In every fresh and chronological period God always restores His purpose, and God has renewed His purpose and covenant with His people in each new season of transition. Examples of this abound, such as when God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt with four hundred and thirty years wages (Exodus 12:31 -36).
We are stepping into a new season in God and we are maturing in it. In the present transition, God is effecting change through acceleration of time. He is shifting the power to increase wealth for His covenant purpose to be established through the advancement of His Kingdom. This shift will bring finances and resources into the Church.
He is speeding up the time in such a way that it will bring about a shifting in the kingdoms of the earth for finances and resources to come forth into the hands of those who are Kingdom minded. God will not give these resources to self-willed and high-minded leaders, or those who merchandise the gifts and purposes of God for their own gain and achievement, or for those who seek to build their own names and their kingdoms to reflect their pride and arrogance.
The present transfer of wealth to the Church is for God’s covenant purpose, to establish His Kingdom on earth (Proverbs 13:22).
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.” (Amos 9:13-5).
The Spirit of God has declared this acceleration and the grace to overtake is upon the Church in this hour.
Wealth includes material substances and pecuniary resources. Wealth is necessary to accomplish God’s plan on earth. God’s goal is to finish His purpose on the earth, hence economic empowerment and affluence must come to the Body of Christ.
“A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.” (Ecclesiastes 10:19).
Far from being worldly or carnally minded, the Church speaks of wealth, prosperity and finance for the purpose of Kingdom advancement. Nothing is accomplished without financial input. Money is needed to fulfill God’s purpose on earth. The problem is that there has been a misconception and abuse of this within the Church circle by men of greed and gain consciousness.
Scripture has two basic positions on this topic:
1. Wealth, prosperity and finance is acknowledged as God’s blessing upon the lives of His people. The will of God for His Church is prosperity!
“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” (Psalm 35:27).
“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.” (Job 36:11-12).
Prosperity is not attained, but it has been atoned for in Jesus Christ. Prosperity is a benefit and inheritance as a son of the Kingdom. It is a benefit from God to us. It is our right to have it.
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9).
2. Wealth, prosperity and finance is a spiritual force that can affect our spiritual walk and maturity if our pursuit for riches, fortune and pleasure is depraved.
Greed and misappropriation of Kingdom finance is sin. What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the world and lose his soul? (Matthew 16:26). A distorted view of finance is likely to be accompanied by a distorted view of the Kingdom. We must understand the purpose God has released this to us. We should not pursue the carnal things of the earth because of greed, least we lose everything at the obliteration of our very soul. The goal of prosperity is to be rich in order to reach others for the Kingdom.
